In the first portion of this lecture we will examine the rise of Adolf Hitler and the NSDAP. Then we will shift our attention to foreign affairs. We will address Hitler's view of the international system and the steps he took to repudiate the Treaty of Versailles. We will conclude by tracing Hitler's agressive policies which ultimately resulted in the outbreak of the Second World War.
